INSTALLATION/UNPACKING

Getting this UNIT out of the box he got shipped in is tricky, but not impossible. The dark purple guitar you received should help with this. Place the box in the middle of the room and play on the guitar as best or as worse as you can.

When you are good at playing on the guitar, your MARIANO 2.0 unit will calmly get out by himself and compliment you on your play.
When you're bad at it, he will come crashing out of his box, take the guitar from you and will start making good music by himself while immediately trying to teach you the fine art of making music.

If your music skills (or lack thereof) won't get your MARIANO 2.0 unit out of his package, do not panic. While shipping his default mode got somehow set into "Stranger  Fear". Borrow, purchase or rent an DOMINICK/MYRON unit to do the unpacking for you.

OPERATING PROCEDURES

the MARIANO 2.0 unit is a great way to learn about units and how they work. Your MARIANO 2.0 unit comes with default modes, but customers used to programming units can program a MARIANO 2.0 in any way desirable,  except for the 'SLASH' mode which is non-existent in this model.

Music teacher:

Always wanted to have epic guitar solo skills or have trouble reading those darn notes? MARIANO 2.0 will help you out by teaching you everything he knows about guitar music or will send you to another unit with music skills for other instruments and singing lessons.

You can also send your MARIANO 2.0 unit to a school that needs a music teacher if you need the extra money

Translator (Dutch to English, English to Dutch mostly.)

Dutch is the native language of your MARIANO 2.0 unit, but he is also pretty darn good at English. He can translate a lot of things and will be amused when you try to pronounce words in his native language

Great Listener

Getting fed up hearing the same story of your friend over and over again, or have an unit that won't stop bugging you with his seemingly endless conversations? Just shove your MARIANO unit in their general direction and he will listen to all their endless stories with surprising patience and interest.

Pillow/Teddy bear

Because of his specific body structure, the MARIANO 2.0 unit is a perfect pillow or teddy bear. This is because the unit is squishy in terms of his body structure, has a soft skin and a decent body temperature to keep you cozy, comfortable and warm.

Fluff

Newly added to this unit is the 'fluff' mode, which allows you to part this unit up to an ISIAH unit. Beware of the cuteness, use with caution.



CLEANING

Your MARIANO 2.0 unit will take care of cleaning himself by himself. Unfortunately, creators have been incapable of making a MARIANO 2.0 unit wanting to take a bath/shower with anyone else, including his owner. Read the included "Other Units" folder to pick a unit that will let you hop in without any problems.

COMPATABILITY

Your MARIANO 2.0 unit has been updated to interact with a set of units. Most of these units will make your MARIANO 2.0 unit meet other units they get along with and are there for capable of socializing your MARIANO 2.0 unit. Here are the four most common units:

MYRON: Newly added to the compatability list is the MYRON unit. MARIANO 2.0 enjoys hanging out with this fluffy, sweet unit known for it's love for candy and sheep. Oblivious to a MARIANO 2.0 unit's sarcasm however, you might notice them having slightly awkward moments.

If your MARIANO 2.0 unit is in 'Older Brother Complex' mode, chances are he holds the MYRON unit in high regards


DOMINICK: DOMINICK and MARIANO 2.0 units are extremely close friend who bond over various shared interests. Due to personality differences however, don't be shocked if these two have a fall out fight every once in a while.

Again, your MARIANO 2.0 unit could be set to the "Older Brother Complex" setting, which will result in him seeing a DOMINICK/MYRON, -or both-, as an older brother figure.

ISIAH:

Also newly added is a loveinterest unit for your MARIANO 2.0! Hooray! MARIANO 2.0 tends to fall as a brick for this cute, innocent and nerdy unit, and tends to be very protective over them. In general you will need the help of a DOMINICK unit to introduce these two units to eachother, but after that their relationship will blossom on it's own.

MARIANO 2.0 also sporadically interacts with other units of the RS brand, with JOSHUA and OSCAR being it's preferred options.

SETTINGS

Your MARIANO 2.0 unit can be programmed with custom settings for the experienced owner, but he comes mainly with these settings:

Natural Shyness (default):
Your MARIANO 2.0 will behave like he is supposed to when first meeting a new unit. He will be polite, but you can definitely see that he is not amused by having to socialize

Kuudere (default):
This explains your MARIANO 2.0 unit in one line: "Cold on the outside, soft as cotton on the inside"

Older Brother Complex:
A MARIANO 2.0 unit in this setting will view an ALISTAIR/DOMINICK unit, -or both-, as an older brother type of friend. This view comes from the desire of having an older brother which comes with this setting.

Nocturnal
Your MARIANO 2.0 unit will now be more active at night than usual. Not recommended for those who need their sleep. However, this setting is great when you have an DOMINICK unit that refuses to sleep because of his 'Monophobia' setting. Your MARIANO 2.0 can convince him to go to sleep as he guards the house.

Acrophobia (locked):
An locked setting that is easily unlocked by exposing this unit to heights. Have any of the units he gets along with stand by to get him out of this mode.

Twisted mind (locked):
The MARIANO 2.0 unit will go into this mode when he is exposed to the happiness of committed units for too long and can become quite dangerous to his owner if nothing is done about this. Get an compatible unit, give the unit specific orders to cheer your MARIANO 2.0 unit up and get him out of this state.


Stranger fear (Unit chooses this setting himself at random):
Your Mariano 2.0 unit will refuse to socialize with any unit, regardless whether the manual says he should like them. Either give him up to a month to get used to a unit or when that takes too long, get an compatible unit to force him into socializing.


FAQ

Q: My MARIANO 2.0 unit speaks a language I don't understand. Help!
A: If you want your MARIANO 2.0 unit to speak English, have him interact with an english speaking unit, as these units will get him to switch to his second language.
If you want your MARIANO unit to speak Dutch, have him interact with a MYRON unit after giving said help-unit the order to speak DUTCH. This will make the MARIANO 2.0 unit switch to his native language.


Q: My MARIANO 2.0 unit doesn't reply to me anymore, what do I do?
A: Your MARIANO 2.0 unit is probably wearing his headphones. Simply tap his shoulder before talking to him.

Q: The local MYRON/DOMINICK unit has disappeared and now I can't find my MARIANO unit anywhere. Where is he?
A: Relax, this is no reason for panic. Your MARIANO unit is taking care of the other unit's house and the pets that come included in the unit shipping. As soon as the unit returns, your MARIANO unit will return to you as well.


Q: My MARIANO 2.0 unit refuses to interact with a MYRON/DOMINICK/ISIAH unit, while the manual says they should be getting along. What's wrong?
A: Your MARIANO 2.0 unit set himself to the "Stranger fear" setting. In this state it will take up to a month for him to get used to any other units. If this takes too long, get an compatible unit to help you out and force him into socializing with these units.

Q: My MARIANO 2.0 unit refuses to sleep at night and instead keeps me awake by typing what sound like complete thirteen book long novels or playing music. What do I do?
A: Reprogram your MARIANO 2.0 unit so he's not in the "Nocturnal" setting anymore. If this doesn't help, beat him over the head with a book repeatedly until he stops.


Q: My MARIANO unit has gone missing, help!
A: Ask the local compatible unit if they know where he is. If not, assemble all friend-units and make them search for him.
MYRON and DOMINICK units can decide to make "Back Up Calls" which brings in more units from the REDSOCIETY© brand of units to help with the search.

MYRON and/or DOMINICK units who interact with your MARIANO 2.0 unit when the "Older Brother Complex" setting is active will make "Back Up Calls" earlier than when the units know each other in default mode. When finding the missing MARIANO 2.0 unit they will also scold him for running away in the first place.


TROUBLESHOOTING:

Problem: Your MARIANO unit has brown hair, green eyes and wears blue sweaters instead of red ones. He also keeps asking to see the local LOWAN unit.
Solution: Oops, you have accidently been supplied with a MARION unit. If you still want a MARIANO 2.0 unit, sent the MARION unit back and we'll send you a MARIANO 2.0 unit instead.

Problem: Your MARIANO 2.0 unit keeps bugging you about wanting to learn Spanish and refuses to talk about anything else.
Solution: Ask the local JOSHUA unit if he would like to teach your unit Spanish. If this doesn't work stop being so cheap and get the unit a speed course in Spanish or something. He'll love you forever if you do so.

Problem:  Your MARIANO 2.0 unit is a brunette girl with green eyes and red dresses, who asks frequently where the local AVA, MEREDITH and/or NERON unit can be found
Solution: Oops, you have accidently received a MARY-ANN unit instead. If you still want a MARIANO 2.0 unit, sent the MARY-ANN unit back and we will send a MARIANO 2.0 unit as soon as possible.

Problem:  Your MARIANO 2.0 unit has been exposed to heights and you are incapable of getting him out of his 'Acrophobia' setting. He won't calm down no matter what you do.
Solution: Borrow, rent or purchase a compatible unit to talk to your MARIANO unit.

Problem:  Your MARIANO 2.0 unit suddenly spends more time on his laptop and refuses to show you what he's typing. You also can't seem to find the files he's working on and when you ask about it he's cold and hostile.
Solution: Your MARIANO 2.0 unit is in his 'Twisted Mind' setting. Borrow, rent, purchase or contact us for a compatible unit to come and undo this setting or this might be the last time we talked to you

Getting a DOMINICK unit to help you when the MARIANO 2.0 unit isn't previously set to "Older Brother Complex" is useless and could possibly put the helping unit in harm's way.
This also goes for when you are unsure of your MARIANO 2.0 unit's previous settings. Contact us and we will help you find a harmless solution
